Operations and Administrative Associate
Founded in 1972, the Chinese Progressive Association (CPA) is a grassroots membership-based organization that empowers the Chinese community in San Francisco and promotes justice and equality for all people. CPA’s campaigns and programs improve the living and working conditions of working class immigrants and give ordinary community members a stronger voice in the decision-making processes that affect them. Our core strategies are community education and organizing, leadership development and alliance building.
The Operations and Administrative Assistant provides day to day office functions and administrative support for the CPASF office and satellite offices. This position supports the smooth, stable, effective and efficient infrastructure of a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Check and process incoming mail
Develop an efficient filing system to make updating and retrieving files easier
Create or update records with new information
Follow policies and confidentiality dictations to safeguard data and information
Support management of CPA’s hiring and staffing processes (including job postings, offer letters, evaluation systems, position changes)
Coordinate CPA’s onboarding process for new hires, delegating tasks and ensuring that they are completed in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
Provide necessary training to staff re: administrative processes for supervisors.
Provide high-level administrative support to CPA by supporting, tracking, scheduling, and preparing materials for all organizational wide trainings.
Develop and enforce policies and practices as needed
Collect and maintain meeting notes and other documentation
Other administrative tasks as needed.
Maintain offices, staff practices and procedures of the CPA main office, as well as satellite offices.
Manage inventory and storage.
Meeting staff, interns, external allies and volunteers’ basic operations requests when assigned.
Serve as a liaison to building maintenance and management office.
Assisting clients in finding their way around the office.
Helping maintain workplace security

Support other CPA campaigns, programs and organization-wide activities as needed

Ability to problem solve and initiate solutions
Excellent attention to detail, follow-through, and project management skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong computer skills
Drivers license and vehicle
This position is being offered as non-exempt position. This position is full time estimated at 40 hours a week.
Salary and Benefits:
$20.00 to 24.03 hourly wage (46-57K per year) depending on experience and qualifications.
