Young Workers United Organizer
Young Workers United is dedicated to improving the quality of jobs for workers in SF. We are a bad-ass worker center that, (despite our name!), organizes primarily with Latinx low-wage “working adults” (typically 30 - 65 years old) in San Francisco. We are a base-building organization focused on building power with low-wage workers through Know Your Rights outreach, strategic services for (mostly) restaurant workers experiencing wage theft of all forms, and campaigns at or around workplace issues that seek to build density to win with working class people. Young Workers United is a fiscally sponsored project of the Chinese Progressive Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that will be responsible for all hiring.
Young Workers United is seeking a new bilingual (English/Spanish) Organizer to help build out our organizing priorities with immigrant workers in low-wage industries in San Francisco. Our organization is making shifts in our organizing tactics because of COVID-19 conditions, and for the near future includes a substantial Digital / Online organizing component.
